Electric propulsion
at Imperial.

We are Imperial College Electric Propulsion, a student-led community exploring advanced space propulsion. Our first project is a 1 kW argon Hall-effect thruster.

About ICEP

A student community at Imperial with a passion for advanced space propulsion.

ICEP brings Imperial students from all disciplines together to explore electric and deep-space propulsion through practical engineering, theory sessions and shared projects. We share a curiosity about how humanity will travel farther into space.

Members develop skills in CAD, manufacturing, assembly, engineering design and Julia programming through training and hands-on projects. There is room to contribute from a first simulation to a component ready for manufacture. No previous Hall-thruster knowledge is required.

Funded by Imperial’s Department of Aeronautics.
