Systems and Management
Define a conceptual spacecraft mission and use it to set thruster requirements. Coordinate the subteams, track progress and report our work to stakeholders and academics.
Our teams
Two main branches, working together on one thruster. Explore the roles below, with part-time Marketing opportunities alongside your technical or simulation work.
ICEP
Design & build
Turn mission requirements into thruster designs and physical hardware.
Define a conceptual spacecraft mission and use it to set thruster requirements. Coordinate the subteams, track progress and report our work to stakeholders and academics.
Size the thruster, develop its conceptual geometry and create detailed 3D models in Fusion 360. Turn engineering requirements into a design the team can manufacture.
Develop the magnets, cathode and anode. Manufacture and assemble the hardware, integrate its systems and prepare it for testing.
Model & analyse
Understand the design through our own code and established engineering software.
Build modules and workflows around PEPAPIC using Julia and particle-in-cell modelling. Develop our own tools to connect thruster designs with simulations.
Julia & PEPAPICUse established software to model the magnetic circuit, analyse thermal behaviour and study gas flow through the anode.
