Beyond our first thruster
Build on our Hall-thruster experience to explore other propellants and electric micro-propulsion for small satellites. Each project should leave future students with stronger tools, knowledge and hardware.
Our vision
We want ICEP to become a place where students can build the engines of tomorrow and think seriously about the missions they could enable.
Build on our Hall-thruster experience to explore other propellants and electric micro-propulsion for small satellites. Each project should leave future students with stronger tools, knowledge and hardware.
Develop a research community exploring human spaceflight, conceptual spacecraft and interplanetary missions. Students from different disciplines can study the propulsion, power and mission architectures a future spacefaring civilisation could require.
Work towards student-built electric propulsion on a CubeSat, through our own spacecraft or a future university collaboration. We aim to develop an electrically propelled student CubeSat payload alongside Imperial College London Rocketry.
Build links with student teams across the UK, Europe and beyond. We plan to enter electric propulsion competitions as our hardware develops. Alongside the Student Electric Propulsion Consortium, we are in talks about wider competition opportunities, including R2S EP.
